Perito Moreno Glacier

Full day excursion. Take road 11 west from El Calafate, travel 37 km to the entrance of Los Glaciares National Park, from there you travel 40 km more to the end of the road. After parking, you will reach the balconies circuit area, right in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the most famous and imposing glaciers of the world.

The area can be explored on foot on the different trails and panoramic points. Restaurant and restroom services available. Nautical excursions. Camping is prohibited and there’s no gas stations in the area. We recommend travelling with a full gas tank from El Calafate.

As an alternative option when returning to town, after exiting the National Park entrance, you can detour on road 15 (gravel road) to enjoy some patagonian “estancias” or the Lago Roca camping site, where you will discover a beautiful landscape suitable for fishing and camping. Dorms available to spend the night. There's also a mini market and a restaurant in the area. No gas station available.

Round trip distance from El Calafate: 160 Km

IMPORTANT:

Expect some sinuous curves and/or poor condition roads in the area. No gas stations available during the trip.
